In order to get their place at the Grand Final, the challengers first needed to take an online aptitude test and rank as highly as possible. A Day in the City
A day in the City 2014 took place Monday 13 January and gave 40 selected students a unique chance to gain an insight into the life of a City lawyer. They spent the day with two top law firms; RPC and Dentons, and networked with lawyers, trainees and graduate recruiters. Attendees were put through their paces with sessions designed to reflect the application process as well as bespoke skills workshops offering guidance and a chance to have questions answered.
Attendees were first year law or second year non-law students, and were invited to attend after completing an online application (CV and cover letter) and being successful during a telephone interview where they demonstrated their interest in a career in city law and motivations for wanting to attend the event.
